Session

A session is a small window of state, and most of the mistakes people make are about how long they think it lasts.

Printed as supplied, in no order, with nothing marked best or main. This board never opens an address, so nothing on this page says one of them is reachable for you now.

State you can see and state you cannot

A session has two halves. There is the half you can see, which is a page saying you are signed in, and the half you cannot, which is whatever your browser and your machine are holding on to while that is true. People manage the first half carefully and forget the second one entirely.

The panels here work through both. Choosing a name, the nexus market login screen, how long the state survives, what two open tabs do to each other, what closing the browser actually clears and what it does not.

Reading this panel wrong

2 ways it happens
  1. Reading the tiles here as facts about the market. They measure this section page. The board has no access to session behaviour anywhere, so it measures the only thing it can: itself.
  2. Assuming a longer section means a more important subject.Sections are the same size by design. The count is fixed by the shape of the board, not by the weight of the subject.

What this panel is not: a description of any specific account system. It is about the general shape of a signed-in visit and the assumptions people bring to it.
