What is deliberately left out

The absences on this board are decisions, and a list of them is more useful than a claim of completeness.

Printed as supplied, in no order, with nothing marked best or main. This board never opens an address, so nothing on this page says one of them is reachable for you now.

The list

Not hereWhy not
Whether an address worksThe site never opens a connection. A status would require probing, and probing would report on this server path rather than on yours.
Any uptime figure or last checked dateSame reason. A timestamp implies monitoring, and there is none.
Prices, fees, rates or amountsNo source. Any figure would be invented and would go stale invisibly.
Durations of any kindSame. Readers use durations as thresholds for deciding something is wrong, so an invented one causes action at the wrong moment.
Vendor names, listings or anything from insideNo access, no source, and nothing this board could check.
Recommendations between the three addressesNo basis. They are printed in the order supplied with no marker of any kind.
A list of other trustworthy sitesNo way to evaluate one. A list of approved sources from an unaccountable page is the shape of the problem, not the solution.
Screenshots of anythingNone exist. Nothing on this site is an image of any interface anywhere.
Instructions for security toolsA half explanation produces people who believe they have followed instructions, which is worse than no explanation.
Anything about visitors to this siteNo analytics, no counter, no logs analysed, no cookie. The board does not know.

What the third tile is doing

It is labelled as checks performed on the addresses and it draws an empty state, because the answer is none.

That tile appears on two panels on this board, and both times it is doing the same job: making an absence visible in the place where a reader is looking for a number, rather than in a footer sentence that gets skipped.

The pattern behind the list

Almost every item comes from the same rule. Two data sources, no others, and no figure that cannot be computed from them at request time.

That rule was not chosen to be austere. It was chosen because every failure mode this board was built to avoid is a version of the same thing: a number that once had a basis, or never had one, presented with the confidence of something measured.

The cost is that the board cannot answer several of the questions people arrive with. The benefit is that everything it does answer can be checked.

Where to go for the missing parts

This board will not name sites, and that includes for the things it does not cover. What it can say is what kind of thing you would need.

For reachability you need something that probes, and you should ask what it probed from and how long ago. For anything about the market internals you need a source with access, and you should ask how they got it. For security tooling you need documentation from whoever makes the tool, not a summary from a reference site.

In each case the useful question is the same one: what is this figure derived from. It is the question this board answers on every page, and it is the one worth carrying to any other page.

Absences that are not on the list

There are also subjects missing simply because nobody wrote them. The board has a fixed number of panels per section and some sections could support more.

Those are not principled gaps and this panel is not going to dress them up as such. The list above is about refusals. The rest is just a site of a particular size, and the panel on section sizes is honest about the target being arbitrary.

Questions that come up on this panel

Would you add uptime data if you could?

Not from a single server making single probes. It would report on one path at one moment and would be read as a general statement.

Is refusing to name other sites a cop out?

It is a refusal to do something this board has no means to do well. Naming sites requires evaluating them and there is no basis here for that.

Reading this panel wrong

3 ways it happens
  1. Reading the list as modesty. It is a description of a limit. Several items would be easy to fake and easy to believe, which is precisely why they are named.
  2. Assuming an absence means the subject does not matter. Most of the list is things readers care about a great deal. That is why the reasons are given individually.
  3. Treating the empty tile as broken. It is the correct answer to its own label, which is that no check was performed.

What this panel is not: an apology. The gaps are chosen and the reasoning for each is written down here rather than implied.
